Jennylyn Mercado and Valerie Concepcion are now officially with Viva Artist Agency.
The entry of Valerie and Jen was made possible after their longtime manager Becky Aguila signed a co-management deal with Viva.
In a meeting with PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Veronique del Rosario-Corpus—general manager of Viva Artists Agency, Inc.—she says, "Jen was signed up last year pero nag-sign siya ng film at recording contract, kasabay ni Valerie, na nag-sign up with team management and film."
Becky has previously said that both stars will still remain with their respective home networks despite this latest development.
For the controversial manager, who also handles the career of Angel Locsin, the decision to join Viva Artist Agency would provide Jen and Valerie enough career options particularly in the movies and recording. Becky also took into consideration the fact that both are single young mothers and can not afford to remain stale for the sake of their babies.
RIDING HIGH FOR 2010. Jen and Valerie's addition to Viva's talent management roster came at the right time. The local entertainment company giant is determined to make its presence felt mainly on the big screen this year as revealed during a meeting with PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) last January 18.
"I think we have ten lineups for the next three months," said Viva Entertainment big boss Vincent del Rosario.
On top of the list is the Aga Muhlach and Regine Velasquez drama-romance starrer titled, Of All the Things, which is now near completion according to reports. Next is the movie tentatively billed Hating Kapatid, featuring Judy Ann Santos and Sarah Geronimo.
The modern remake of the classic film Working Girls is also earmarked for a 2010 release. Offhand, Ruffa Gutierrez, Eugene Domingo, Jennylyn Mercado, and Cristine Reyes are being eyed as cast members, with Joey Reyes as director.
A project is also being prepared for Claudine Barretto though details are still being finalized as to who will be her leading man.
"I think the difference between this year and the past two years, nadagdagan yung mga talents that either we manage or co-manage," said del Rosario. The talent-management team is currently home to artists estimated at around forty, and is headed by Veronique del Rosario.
Some of Viva's well-known talents include Sarah Geronimo, Mark Bautista, Anne Curtis, Rachelle Ann Go, Cristine Reyes, to name a few.
