Finding Love Once More

Finding Love Once More
Since entering showbiz via ‘StarStruck’ three years ago, Jennylyn has been one of the country’s most-watched young stars. Aside from her rising career, we have witnessed how she has fallen in love, fallen out of it, gotten over her heartaches, and just recently it seems, found love all over again. Text by Jillian Q. Gatcheco. Photos by Mitch S. Mauricio.
Jennylyn Mercado is back on primetime TV in GMA’s latest telefantasya Super Twins. She is “Super S,” the grown-up (and superpowered) version of Sha-Sha, the feisty fraternal twin who knows how to defend herself and protect her sister Tin-Tin ("Super T" in turn portrayed by Nadine).

Joining her on Super Twins is her Now and Forever: Dangal (2006) leading man Dennis Trillo, whose past primetime project was Majika (2006), opposite Angel Locsin. He may be playing a possible love interest for “Super S” in this primetime series, but the current buzz is somebody has been making Jen’s heart skip a beat in real life – and he’s in the series too!

Who else but Patrick Garcia?

In Safe Hands
Jen affirms that she’s quite comfortable being with him, and she even mentioned him when we gave her a hypothetical situation: If you were to be stuck in an elevator, who would you want to be there with you?
“Patrick.”
Why Patrick?
“Siguro. Huwag na lang!” Jen hesitates shyly. “Kasi I’m comfortable na with him, and I know I’ll be safe. Sigurado (ako).”
Jen and Patrick haven’t really confirmed or denied anything, but one thing’s for sure, Jen is getting more beautiful day after day. Is love behind such change?
“Maganda (ako kapag in love!)" Jen says with a smile. "Hindi, siguro happy kasi makikita mo sa aura (ko). At mabilis ako sumpungin e, so siguro kapag hindi ako sinusumpong, (in love ako).”
And Jen was most definitely in a good mood on that day!
Getting Over
Jen may be falling in love (or already is in love) right now, but this young lady isn’t new to dealing with break-ups, especially with a much-publicized one with ex-flame Mark Herras. What are her thoughts on a girl moving on after a take on love?
“Para maka-get over ka, syempre dapat hahanap ka ng pagkakaabalahan mo, like mag-shopping ka, bilhin mo lahat ng gusto mo, ‘yung mga hindi mo nabibili or ‘yung mga hindi mo nasusuot, suotin mo, lahat!” she shares. “’Yung mga pinagbabawal sa iyo dati, (gawin mo) tapos kumain ka lang nang kumain. Enjoy mo lang ‘yung sarili mo with your friends and family!”
She also admits that she’s the type who will cry at first, although she says that it’s normal for everybody to have post-break up blues. But once you get into a relationship again, make sure of one thing: “For a girl to love a guy, you must understand (more) rather than love him (more). Parang mas maraming understanding (dapat), pero ‘yung love konti lang. For me, that is effective.”
Falling In Love Again
And once Jen does decide to fall again, how will she let the guy know?
“Wala, kasi kapag crush ko ‘yung isang tao, tinatago ko, like ako, crush ko si Aga (Muhlach) dati pa, hanggang ngayon hindi ko pa din siya nakikita!” Jen jokes with a giggle. “Wala, wala akong ginagawa (talaga).”
Jen also believes in courtship – a must for her, because it’s part of the “relationship stages,” as she says. “Kailangan syempre, ligawan niya ako, kasi...kapag generous ‘yung tao, ako parang ‘Ok ‘to ah!’ Pero syempre gusto ko muna mabait tapos real gentleman, saka love niya ‘yung friends and family ko. And loyalty is the best, as well as sincerity.”
Always wearing her heart on her sleeve, Jennylyn for sure will one day will find a love that will last a lifetime.
